Our history
Oakeswell formed in 2013, initially with the aim of helping out a few energy sector organisations with writing and developing commercial strategies. Since then, the business has grown and with it our team and range of clients.
We’ve become specialists in economic regulation and energy markets, working for regulated gas and electricity utilities all across the country. We do everything from preparing business cases to building revenue models, all founded on a detailed knowledge of wholesale electricity and gas markets, and network asset management.
Our team comprises writers, economists, accountants, engineers and experienced asset managers. We also have access to statisticians, graphic designers and marketing experts. We’ve been involved in countless access arrangement/pricing processes, developed energy strategies, and are at the heart of Australian energy market reform.
But we don’t restrict ourselves to electricity and gas. We’ve worked with business large and small, public and private. From emergency services to oil companies, builders to bikeshare owners, we’re happy to help wherever we can, applying the same energetic and conscientious approach no matter how big or small the job.
Our philosophy
Our philosophy is a straightforward one - make it easy and get it done. Our whole approach is based around taking the headache away from clients. We do this by being flexible, easy to work with, and coming up with solutions rather than questions.
Whether producing a marketing strategy for a small business or justifying multi-million dollar investments, we put in the time and effort to understand the problem, work with you to agree a solution - and then most importantly - get it done and get it done well.
